In the current bleak economic climate every penny counts towards saving jobs and hanging on for better times.

Many of our local companies are feeling the pinch. Some of the smaller businesses may not be aware that there can be scope to reduce the cost of business rates. Rates relief is very much on the Parliamentary agenda. A private members bill is coming up soon which could introduce an automatic system and remove much of the burdensome paperwork of claims. It is estimated that £400 million pounds goes unclaimed every year. Automatic relief is already the norm in Wales. But local authorities are well aware of the financial constraints facing business and industry and may be prepared to help in the meantime.
